Dr. Dickinson is an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular Physiology & Biophysics at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Dickinson’s laboratory uses a multi-disciplinary approach to study the role of fluid-derived mechanical forces in vascular remodeling, heart morphogenesis and stem cell renewal. Her work utilizes laser-scanning fluorescence microscopy, including multispectral, multiphoton and high-speed confocal imaging to study cell and tissue dynamics in mouse and Zebrafish model systems. Her work is supported by the NHLBI and NIBIB, as well as the Gillson Longenbaugh Foundation.

Education
After completing her doctorate degree in Biological Sciences at Columbia University in 1996, she was a Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell postdoctoral fellow at Caltech. In 2002, she became a Member of the Professional Staff and a Group Leader in the Biological Imaging Center at the Beckman Institute, California Institute of Technology. Dr. Dickinson has been with the Baylor College of Medicine and an adjunct faculty member at Rice University since 2005.
