Dr. Tung is an associate professor at Center for Molecular Imaging Research, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on developing novel optical probes for molecular sensing and in vivo imaging. He pioneered the use of enzyme activatable imaging agents to detect diseases, and evaluate treatment effect. The clinical potentials of the developed technologies have been demonstrated in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammation.
Education and experience
Prior to joining Massachusetts General Hospital in 1997, Dr. Tung worked in a gene therapy company. He received his doctorate in Chemistry from Rutgers University, and was a postdoctoral fellow and a research associate at the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine in New Jersey.
